In the first week of June, Badlands Born ranked #91 in Amazon’s top 100 Science Fiction Metaphysical and Visionary bestseller category; an unexpected side effect of the Badlands Cursed launch along with the 5-day $0.99 sale. It’s a small category to be sure but for a while I was next to Curt Vonnegut, Dan Simmons, and other authors I grew up reading, which is pretty neat. I may not be the biggest author out there, but I’m getting better.
The Badlands Cursed launch was a great success! I hope everyone’s had a great time reading it so far. I’ve had a few of you reach out personally and it’s made my day every time because let’s face it: I lock myself in the office and write books for entertaining others, not myself. Thank you all for the feedback because it keeps me going. If you’ve read the book, consider leaving a review to let others know you like it — I’d consider it a personal favor.
What to Read
Space Opera
I’m currently reading Eric Warren’s Infinity’s End space opera series, and recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of Star Trek or Firefly. Without giving away spoilers, it’s a series following a disgraced freighter captain and his snarky mining robot as he’s sucked back into the intrigues of the Coalition and the admiralty that betrayed him. The government’s corrupt, but the officers are good, and it all works out in the end. (As an added bonus, it’s free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers.)
