I’m trying something new with the reader update and will publish every two weeks, or about two a month. With more people staying home and so many of those other diversions in life (sports, parties, nights out on the town) on hold I want to help you find something entertaining you might have missed. A little extra something-something.

Dungeons and Dragons

Yeah, one of the entry points for nerdom but one that has stood the test of time and is more accessible than ever. The publisher, Wizards of the Coast, have opened up their vaults and made a surprising amount of material available for free.  As an old D&D nerd I had to check it out and when pitched it as something to do on game night the rest of the family was open to it. We’re not hard-core role-players but we’re having tons of fun creating our own stories.

Cooking videos with a twist

If you’re not a cook, there are millions of shows and videos that can teach you how. They’re boring. Watch You Suck at Cooking for a snarky, low-fi comedy experience while you learn.

More books

If you’re looking for new stories I’m part of a review promotion going on through June 20. The signup is simple: you see something you like, request to be a reviewer and get a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. There are some tasty-looking books there, but I have to restrain myself and not take up a review slot (and get through the stack of unread books already waiting for me). Check it out here

What would you like to see more of?
